The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is comprised of parents and teachers working together to coordinate fundraising and special events for the center. Every teacher is a member and every parent becomes a member when they enroll their child at the center. We hope you will take advantage of the opportunity to become involved in your PTO. Child care is provided during meetings.
First Light also utilizes a Parent Advisory Team (PAT) to represent the First Light families and provide the center's administration with feedback about its policies and practices. The purpose of the PAT is to facilitate communication between parents and the administration in an ongoing effort to support the quality of care provided. While the PAT is not a policy-making body, it assists the administration with strategic planning for the center by providing parental viewpoints, feedback to the administration about proposed changes that affect the center as a whole, and works with the administration to review various aspects of operations, including teacher retention, fund-raising, food service, extracurricular activities, changes in procedures or services, and facilities issues.
Please contact the Executive Director if you are interested in serving on the PAT.
